British pair Kyle Edmund and Cameron Norrie are through to the Estoril Open doubles final after beating Leonardo Mayer and Joao Sousa 6-2 7-6.

The match came just a day after Edmund lost the final set 6-0 to Sousa in the singles draw.

It took just 27 minutes for the pair to take the first set, breaking in game two and game eight and forcing seven break points throughout the set.

The second set proved a tougher challenge. After taking a 1-0 lead against serve, Sousa and Mayer broke back to make it 2-2.

The Brits then failed with seven successive break points as their opponents held on to force a tiebreak.

Edmund and Norrie twice had leads of two points pegged back, but took three points in a row to triumph 7-4

They will play Wesley Koolhof and Artem Sisak in the final tomorrow.
