Kyle Edmund and Cameron Norrie are through to the semi-final of the Estoril Open doubles after beating Australian pair Alex De Minaur and Lleyton Hewitt in 6-4 7-6.

Norrie had already played over three hours of tennis earlier in the afternoon after losing to Roberto Carballes Baena in the singles draw, while Edmund had beaten De Minaur in the singles on Wednesday.

Edmund and Norrie raced into a 3-0 lead before De Minaur and Hewitt broke back. Another break at 5-4 handed the Brits the opening set.

The second set proved tougher for the Brits, with both teams breaking once on the way to 4-4.

De Minaur and Hewitt saved two match points at 5-4 but were undone in the tiebreak when Cameron and Norrie took it 7-4.

The pair will meet Leonardo Mayer and Joao Sousa in the semi-final.
