Chris Gunter became the first player to reach 100 caps for Wales in a 1-0 victory over Mexico.

Kieffer Moore’s fifth goal in 13 international appearances gave Wales the win ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Czech Republic on Tuesday.

Manchester City midfielder Matt Smith, on loan at Doncaster Rovers, also impressed for Wales to strengthen his bid for a place in the Euro 2020 squad.

Jonny Williams did excellently to find Cardiff City teammate Moore inside the six-yard box to open the scoring.

Wayne Hennessey made a series of stops on his 95th appearance. First, Luis Rodriguez struck from long range before Hector Lozano forced a save down low.

Half-time substitues Hal Robson-Kanu and Josh Sheehan could each have added a second for Wales in the second half but both players shot narrowly wide.
