Super League roundup: Victories for Leeds, Hull, Huddersfield, Warrington

Leeds Rhinos have stayed in second-place in the Super League table after a 32-16 win over Wigan Warriors.

A hat-trick from Stevie Ward helped Leeds pull away in the second half after the teams went in level 10-10 at half time.

Tom Davies went over twice for Wigan in the first half before Leeds pulled away.

Hull FC improved their chances of finishing in a playoff place with a 32-18 win over Salford Red Devils.

Carlos Tuimavave scored twice in last week’s Challenge Cup semi-final win and repeated the feat with a try in each half.

Wakefield Wildcats sit on the verge of a playoff place but were thrashed 36-6 by eighth-placed Huddersfield Giants.

Danny Brough scored 16 points, four from a try and 12 with the boot, to lead his team to victory. Sam Williams responded before half time to touch down for Wakefield’s only try.

In the Super League Qualifiers, Warrington Wolves defeated Widnes Vikings 28-14.

Tries from Jack Buchanan and Joe Mellor gave Widnes a 12-6 lead but Warrington steamrollered their opponents in the second half with four tries and a penalty goal.

The Super League Qualifiers continue tomorrow (Saturday) with Featherstone Rovers meeting Leigh Centurions and Catalans Dragons hosting London Broncos.
