St Helens ease past Catalans to stretch lead at top of Super League

Super League leaders St Helens have beaten strugglers Catalans Dragons 26-12.

Jonny Lomax scored St Helens first try of the evening before Tommy Makinson made it two inside the first 14 minutes.

Brayden Willieme replied for Catalans on the half-hour mark but Morgan Knowles’ converted try saw St Helens lead stretch to 16-4 at halftime.

Regan Grace added two more in the second half, either side of a Jodie Broughton reply and Lewis Tierney scored a consolation for Catalans with four minutes remaining.

The result means that St Helens have stretched their lead at the top of the Super League table to four points, with just two losses from 14 matches.
