Nottinghamshire beat Somerset to qualify for T20 Blast finals day

Nottinghamshire have beaten Somerset by five wickets to qualify for the T20 Blast semi-final.

Somerset set a score of just 151-6 and fell to 17-2 early after the wickets of Lewis Gregory (3) and Johann Myburgh (0).

Steven Davies and Peter Trego then put in a solid partnership before Trego was caught for 40.

James Hildreth then went for a duck, caught and bowled by Samit Patel, before Davies’ innings came to an end on 59.

Roelof van der Merwe added 26 before the end of the innings.

Nottinghamshire reached their target with nine balls to spare.

Patel top-scored with 45 but it was Notts’ consistency that was key. Just three players scored less than 20 before Daniel Christian sealed the victory with 36 not out.
