Britain’s Naomi Broady and her partner Magda Linette have been knocked out of the French Open ladies doubles in the first round.

The pair were beaten 6-2 6-3 by Dalila Jakupovic and Irina Khromacheva, who will play Donna Vekic and Darija Jurak in the second round.

Broady and Linette were dominated in the first set and conceded the first three games before being broken to finish the set.

The teams broke each other five times in the second set, with the crucial break coming when Broady and Linette were serving to level the set.

The result means that Heather Watson is Britain’s only representative left in the draw, after she and partner Tatjana Maria defeated Manon Arcangioli and Sherazad Reix yesterday.
