Miami Open: Johanna Konta through to third round with straight-sets win
Johanna Konta has booked her place in the Miami Open third round after a straight-sets win over Magda Linette.
The British number one played well on her serve and had to dig in at times against the world number 50 on her way to a 6-4 7-5 victory.
Konta held serve throughout the opener and broke for 5-4 before saving two break points when serving for the set.
The pair shared breaks through to the second set but Konta prevailed at the end, winning two successive love games to confirm her place in the next round.
The 28-year-old will play Petra Kvitova or Alise Cornet in the third round.
