Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell will need to isolate until June 28 because of a risk of exposure to Covid-19.

The Chelsea teammates will miss England’s final Group D game against Czech Republic at Euro 2020 and could also miss the Three Lions’ last-16 match.

Both Mount and Chilwell were seen in close contact with Scotland’s Billy Gilmour who tested positive for coronavirus on Monday.

The pair were initially isolating as a precautionary measure but Public Health England have deemed that they need to isolate for 10 days from their last contact with Gilmour.

England have already qualified for the round of 16 but their result against Czech Republic could determine whether Mount and Chilwell will be available.

If England finish second in the group they would play on Monday but if they win the group their last-16 match would be next Tuesday and both players would be available for selection.

Both players tested negative for Covid-19 yesterday.
