Impressive England ease into Euro 2020 semi-final

England are through to the Euro 2020 semi-finals after thrashing Ukraine 4-0.

The Three Lions dominated the match from the start and were rarely tested by Andriy Shevchenko’s side.

Harry Kane netted twice and Harry Maguire headed in from a free kick.

Jordan Henderson completed the scoring with 27 minutes to spare by heading in a corner to score his first England goal.

England will now play Denmark at Wembley on Tuesday after they beat the Czech Republic earlier.

Raheem Sterling’s superb form continued and he played a massive part in putting England ahead inside the first five minutes. The Manchester City cut in from the left before playing a defence-splitting pass to Kane who finished past Georgi Bushchan.

Kyle Walker gifted Ukraine a great chance when his pass was intercepted by Roman Yaremchuk but Jordan Pickford tipped the ball around the post.

That was the only real Ukraine chance of the first half though as England came forward again. Declan Rice tested Bushchan from long range with a powerful curling strike and the Ukraine goalkeeper denied Sancho a few moments later.

England’s lead was doubled shortly after the restart when Luke Shaw directed a free kick onto Maguire’s head to score from eight yards.

And Kane made it three with England’s next attack. The Ukraine defence had no answer to Sterling and Shaw down the left and the two combined before Shaw lofted a cross towards Kane to head in.

It did not take long for the fourth to arrive either and it came from another set-piece. Mason Mount picked out Henderson who headed across goal into the bottom left corner.

Kane could even have had a hat trick in the latter stages but his powerful effort was stopped by Bushchan.
