Lewis Hamilton has taken the Formula 1 Championship lead for the first time this season after winning the Italian Grand Prix.

Valtteri Bottas completed a Mercedes one-two with Championship rival Sebastian Vettel finishing in third.

Hamilton lead from start to finish and finished 4.47 seconds ahead of his teammate whilst Vettel fell away and was never in contention, finishing 36.32 seconds back.

Daniel Ricciardo finished fourth after starting 16th on the grid and was gaining a second per lap on Vettel.

The German held off though to finish four seconds ahead of the Red Bull.

Hamilton now leads the Championship by three points ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix in two weeks time.
