Johanna Konta through to Nottingham Open final after beating Donna Vekic

British number one Johanna Konta has qualified for the Nottingham Open final after beating Donna Vekic in straight sets.

The world number 22 took 77 minutes to defeat her 42nd-ranked opponent 6-2 6-3 and has not dropped a set during the tournament.

Konta opened by breaking her opponent and, after a second break for 5-2, eased towards the opening set.

The Croatian came from behind in the second set to level at 3-3, but three games in a row led Konta to victory.

Konta will play Australian top seed Ashleigh Barty in the final on Sunday.

In the doubles tournament, Heather Watson and Mihaela Buzarnescu defeated Lizette Cabrera and Irina Falconi 7-5 6-1 to progress to the final.
