Imran Qayyam stars as Kent beat Somerset in T20 Blast

Kent defeated Somerset by 41 runs in the T20 Blast after a stunning bowling performance from Imran Qayyam.

Qayyam posted a career-best 5-21 to help Kent bowl Somerset out for just 124.

Kent had earlier posted an entirely chasable score of 165 with Ollie Robinson top-scoring with 53. Mohammad Nabi added 34 but Roelof van der Merwe’s 3-19 help restrict Kent.

Somerset looked to be coasting towards victory at 54-1 before Qayyam took out Tom Bantom for 28.

Peter Trego (28) followed before James Hildreth fell for three. Qayyam even recorded a run out when he took out debutant Tom Lammonby (1) and his demoliton of Somerset continued when Van der Merwe (1) and Tom Abell (10) both fell.

Jamie Overton went for 19 off Hardus Viljoen before Adam Milne bowled out Jerome Taylor and Max Waller to finish the match.
