Conte signs new two-year Chelsea deal

Antonio Conte has signed an improved two-year contract at Chelsea.

The terms do not extend the manager’s stay at the club but the Italian has received a pay rise to around £9m per year.

“I am very happy to have signed a new contract,” Conte told reporters.

“We worked extremely hard in our first year to achieve something amazing, which I am very proud of. Now we must work even harder to stay at the top.

“The Chelsea fans have given me so much support since I arrived here one year ago and it is important we continue to succeed together.”

Chelsea have already signed midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoka for £40m from Monaco and £29m Roma defender Antonio Rudiger this summer.
