West Ham United have completed the signing of defender Konstantinos Mavropanos from Stuttgart on an undisclosed fee.

The Greece international has signed a five-year contract.

Mavropanos joined Arsenal in January 2018 but only made seven Premier League appearances before being loaned out to Nurnberg and Stuttgart.

He signed for Stuttgart in 2020 before making the move permanent two seasons later and made 80 appearances for the Bundesliga club.

“I am really happy and excited to be here – and to be back in the Premier League with West Ham United,” Mavropanos told the West Ham official website.

“It’s an exciting time to be joining the Club after last season’s Conference League win – and I am really looking forward to the next step in my career. I can promise the fans I will give everything for them and the shirt.”

Manager David Moyes said: “I’m pleased to welcome Konstantinos to West Ham.

“We’ve been looking to add to our centre-half options this summer, so it’s good we’ve been able to bring in an international defender of his ability.

“We’re really looking forward to integrating him into the group.”

Mavropanos joins James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez as summer signings for West Ham.

He could make his debut in the Hammers Premier League match at Brighton on Saturday.
