Tour de France: Dylan Teuns wins stage six, Geraint Thomas up to fifth

Reigning champion Geraint Thomas has moved up to fifth after a late attack during the first mountain stage of this year’s Tour de France.

Belgium’s Dylan Teuns won the stage in 4:29:03 after a late battle with Giulio Ciccone, who finished 11 seconds behind. Ciccone has taken the yellow jersey from Julian Alaphilippe after the Frenchman finished sixth.

Xandro Meurisse came in third with Thomas finishing fourth to leapfrog teammate Egan Bernal in the general classification.

Thomas remains 49 seconds behind the leader in the general classification. The Tour continues with the 230km Belfort to Chalon-sur-Saone flat stage tomorrow.
