Fidel Edwards took three wickets in the opening over to inspire Birmingham Bears to a T20 Blast win over Leicestershire.

The West Indian reduced Leicestershire to 2-3 with the wickets of Neil Dexter, Mark Cosgrove and Arron Lilley as he finished on bowling figures of 4-22.

Ashton Agar top-scored for Birmingham with an unbeaten 41 as they met their 116 target in just 14.5 overs.

Kent made it two wins out of two as they beat Hampshire. It was left to Alex Blake to hit two successive sixes to claim the win with just one ball to spare.

Blake finished on 57 not out as Kent hunted down a target of 146.

Hampshire captain James Vince had earlier scored 51 but Hardus Viljoen’s 2-20 helped Kent limit Hampshire’s total.

In the final game of the day, Glenn Maxwell hit 58 off 33 runs to lead Lancashire to a 72-run victory over Durham. Steven Croft was unbeaten on 65 as the Lightning set a score of 189-3.

Opener Scott Steel was the only Durham batsman to turn up. He hit a knock of 58 before falling to Matt Parkinson.

Just two other Durham batsmen, Alex Lees (12) and Brydon Carse (11), hit double figures as a dismal batting performance from the rest of the side saw Durham bowled out for just 117 after 16.4 overs.
