Scottish Premiership: McGregor keeps Celtic unbeaten run alive

Celtic’s 53-game domestic unbeaten run nearly came to an end after a 1-1 draw with St Johnstone. Steven MacLean’s first-half goal gave the Saints the lead but Callum McGregor saved Celtic in the 79th minute.

There were three goals in the opening 13 minutes as Partick Thistle hosted Aberdeen. Ryan Christie’s opener was cancelled out by Charlie Erskine before Kris Doolan gave Partick the lead.

Kenny McLean scored from the penalty spot before half time and Scott Wright’s goal saw Aberdeen reclaim the lead after the restart. Niall Keown levelled the score in the 54th minute but Adam Rooney scored late on to give the Dons the win.

Motherwell came from behind to beat Heart of Midlothian 2-1. Kyle Lafferty opened the scoring on the half-hour mark but goals from Ryan Bowman and Louis Moult secured the three points for the Steelmen.

Louis Longridge’s own goal gave Kilmarnock an early lead against Hamilton Academical and Lee Erwin doubled Killie’s lead in the second half. Hamilton came back though and goals from Giannis Skondras and Ali Crawford rescued a point.

Dundee host Hibernian and Rangers play Ross County tomorrow.
