Rafael Nadal eases past outsider Joao Sousa
Rafael Nadal was in complete control throughout as he overcame Portugal’s Joao Sousa to book his place in the Wimbledon quarter-final.
The world number two needed just 146 minutes to beat the world number 69 6-2 6-2 6-2.
Nadal converted both breakpoints to race to a 4-0 lead in the opening set before taking the lead.
He broke early, and conceded just three points on his own serve in the second set on his way to a comprehensive victory.
The two-time champion continued his domination in the third set and closed the match out with a love game to set up a quarter-final tie against Sam Querrey or Tennys Sandgren.
