Novak Djokovic has beaten Matteo Berrettini to win his sixth Wimbledon title.

The Serbian has now equalled Roger Federer’s and Rafael Nadal’s record of 20 career Grand Slam men’s titles.

Djokovic lost just two sets in the entire tournament, one to British youngster Jack Draper in the first round and the second to Berrettini in the final.

The world number one went through a difficult patch at the end of the first set against Berrettini but eventually prevailed 6-7 6-4 6-4 6-3.

Despite being 4-1 down in the opener, Berrettini saved a set point at 5-2 before fighting back to win the tie-break 7-4.

Djokovic’s class soon shone through though and he wore down his opponent with just 21 unforced errors throughout the entire match.

He won the first four games of the second set but saw three set points saved before levelling.

Djokovic was perfect on serve from that point onwards, and battled to a third-set lead before breaking twice late in the fourth set to seal the win.

The 34-year-old will complete a 2021 Grand Slam if he wins the US Open in September.
