Manager Neil Warnock has hailed Cardiff City’s promotion to the Premier League as “the biggest achievement” of his career.

The Welsh side went up to the Premier League following a goalless draw against Reading with rivals Fulham losing to Birmingham City.

“It’s the biggest achievement in my 38 year career by an absolutely mile. I’ve got a great bunch of lads and all the fans have turned out, the owner and everyone,” Warnock told Sky Sports.

“It’s a fabulous achievement because no one gave us a chance, we’ve had lots of kick in the teeth and I’m so proud of them.

“I’ve had some great promotions and some great squads but because of the circumstances when I came here, second from bottom and building it all up this season and off the field as well, I feel really proud with what we’ve done. I’ve really enjoyed every minute and the chairman has been great with me as well.

“I can’t put it into words because at my age, I won’t get many chances… I didn’t think we’d get into the play-offs let alone the Premier League so I think we should cross one bridge at a time.”

Warnock has now led a team to promotion to the Premier League a record four times.
