Middlesex defeat Gloucestershire in final One-Day group game

Middlesex have beaten Gloucestershire by 33 runs in the final group game of the One-Day Cup.

A run rate of 6.44 saw Middlesex set a target of 323 with Paul Stirling and Eoin Morgan’s dominant partnership leading Middlesex to victory with 127 and 100 respectively.

Hilton Cartwright then added 60, remaining with Stirling after the 50 overs.

Ian Cockbain did his best to drag Gloucestershire back into the match with 106 not out and Ryan Higgins’ 65 gave Gloucestershire a chance.

A late flurry of wickets, five in 5.5 overs, saw the Gloucestershire innings end on 289 with nine balls remaining.
