Huddersfield Town have signed goalkeeper Jamal Blackman on a deal to the end of the season.

The 28-year-old is a free agent after leaving Los Angeles FC at the end of the 2021 Major League Soccer season.

“It’s no surprise that he has real quality,” coach Paul Clements said.

“You’re not on the books at Chelsea for such a long period without that – but his attitude since coming into train with us means that he also had a lot of potential to improve further.”

Blackman was on Chelsea’s books until 2021 but never made a first-team appearance for the club.

Instead, he’s spent most of his career on loan to EFL clubs including spells as first choice goalkeeper at Wycombe Wanderers, Sheffield United and Rotherham United.
