Fulham leave it late to bring in Neco Williams
Fulham managed to get one final piece of business over the line before the transfer window closed as they announced the loan signing of Liverpool right-back Neco Williams.
The Championship leaders announced the signing of the Wales international after midnight but had submitted an offer sheet to the EFL before last night’s 11pm deadline.
Williams will come in as a replacement for Denis Odoi, who secured a permanent move to Club Brugge for an undisclosed fee earlier in the day.
“Neco is a great young talent and I’m delighted to welcome him to Fulham for the rest of the season,” Fulham co-owner Tony Khan told the club’s official website.
“It’s important, especially with Denis now leaving the Club, to bring in a player of Neco’s quality to ensure the strength of the squad.”
The 20-year-old featured in every game for Wales at Euro 2020 last summer and has made 33 appearances for Liverpool.
