The South African shot a seven-under 64 on the day to move to 21-under. America’s Russell Henley finished second on 19-under.

World number 133 Frittelli hit just one bogey throughout the week on the way to his first PGA Tour title.

Frittelli has played in the Open in the last two years but missed the cut on both occasions.
