Chelsea sign Brazilian teenager Deivid Washington
Chelsea have completed the signing of 18-year-old Deivid Washington from Santos for a fee of £17.2m.
The Brazilian has signed a seven-year contract with the option of a further year and becomes Chelsea’s ninth signing of the summer.
“I’m very happy to be joining a huge team like Chelsea,” Washington told reporters.
“I can’t wait to make my debut here at such a big club, and provide lots of goals and assists.”
Washington can play on either wing but has predominantly appeared as a striker during his 16 appearances for Santos.
He is the second Santos player to join Chelsea this summer after fellow teenager Angelo arrived at Stamford Bridge last month.
