Burnley sign Aston Villa midfielder Aaron Ramsey
Burnley have completed the signing of Aston Villa midfielder Aaron Ramsey for a fee of around £12m.
The England Under-20 player has agreed a five-year contract at Turf Moor and becomes the club’s 11th summer signing as they aim to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.
“I’m absolutely buzzing. I have been waiting to be a Burnley player for a while now and I’m really happy it’s all officially done now. I can’t wait to get started,” Ramsey told Burnley’s official website.
“I can’t wipe my smile off my face. When you come to a new club you want the lads to welcome you in and everyone here has done that straight away. It’s been really easy to settle, everyone has been amazing.”
Ramsey, 20, came through the youth system at Villa Park and made four appearances for the first team.
He has spent time on loan at Cheltenham and Norwich and scored five goals in 11 appearances in his most recent loan spell at Middlesbrough last season.
