Martens opened the scoring early on with a superb lob over Vietnam goalkeeper Tran Thi Kim Tranh before Snoeijs found the bottom corner to give Netherlands a two-goal lead after just 11 minutes.

Brugts curled in from outside of the area before Roord volleyed in. Van de Donk made it five just before half time when she pounced on a rebound.

Vietnam did manage to limit the Netherlands to two second-half goals, with Brugt adding her second with another long-range curler.

Roord completed the scoring with a simple finish after Stefanie van der Gragt’s header across the area.
