T20 Blast: Leicestershire, Kent keep hopes alive with wins

Kent and Leicestershire have helped their chances of reaching the T20 Blast quarter-final by beating Somerset and Yorkshire respectively.

Leicestershire moved up to fourth in the North Group with a four-wicket win over Yorkshire.

Yorkshire’ Tom Kohler-Cadmore (75) and Shaun Marsh (60) helped them to set a score of 182/5.

New Zealand batsman Luke Ronchi then thumped 57 runs off just 27 balls to set Leicestershire on their way.

Liam Plunkett’s bowling figures of 3/42 saw Leicestershire’s wickets drop with regularity but Colin Ackermann took the team past the target with two balls remaining to finish on 58 not out.

In the South Group, Kent moved up to sixth, just a point behind the top four, with a six-wicket victory over Somerset.

Kent bowler Adam Milne led the charge with sensational bowling figures of 5/11 and an economy of 2.86 to get Somerset all out for 149 after 18.5 overs. James Hildreth top scored for Somerset with 36 from 30 balls.

Kent completed the victory with two overs to spare. Sam Billings hit 56 not out from just 36 balls after Joe Denly had been caught for 33.
