Scottish Premiership: Rangers defeat Ross County, Dundee draw with Hibernian

Rangers have defeated Ross County 3-1 in the Scottish Premiership.

The Glasgow side dominated from the start and an Alfredo Morelos brace gave them a two-goal half-time lead.

Morelos’ first came after 28 minutes when he headed in from James Tavernier’s cross and he added a second before half time.

This time, goalkeeper Scott Fox gifted his opponent the goal. Fox first turned Morelos with a Cruyff turn but the striker then stole the ball from him and rolled it into an empty net.

Ross County made a go of it in the second half and Thomas Mikkelsen pulled a goal back on the hour mark when he nodded in Craig Curran’s cross.

Davis Kellior-Dunn came close to levelling moments later but his free kick was pushed away by Wes Foderingham.

Eduardo Herrera completed the scoring in the 88th minute when he found the bottom corner after Lee Wallace picked him out.

In the day’s early kickoff Dundee drew 1-1 with Hibernian.

Steven Whittaker gave away an early penalty after a lunge on Roarie Deacon and Kevin Holt opened the scoring.

The full back made up for his error before half time though when he sent a low cross towards Anthony Stokes who finished at the near post.

Hibs had chances to win the game in the second half but Simon Murray, John McGinn and Stokes could not beat Scott Bain.
