Leicester Tigers have beaten Newcastle Falcons to record their eighth win of the Premiership season.

George Ford scored 16 points with the boot on after his return from Six Nations duty to lead Leicester to a 26-12 win.

Leicester scored 16 points without reply in the first half, with Hanro Liebenberg touching down and Ford splitting the posts with the conversion and three penalties.

Newcastle hit back momentarily in the second half when Will Welch crossed while Leicester were down to 13 men after Jasper Wiese and George Martin were sin-binned.

But Leicester regained their control when Ford scored another three points before Charlie Clare completed the scoring for the hosts.

Sam Stuart scored a late consolation for Newcastle, who slip to a fourth successive defeat.
