World number one Novak Djokovic has eased past 21-year-old Ugo Humbert to progress to the Wimbledon quarter-final.

Humbert had come through round three in straight sets against 19th-seed Felix Auger-Aliassime but was no match for the 15-time Grand Slam winner, who prevailed 6-3 6-2 6-3.

The Frenchman faltered in the fourth game of the opening set as Djokovic held serve to take the lead.

That lead was extended when Djokovic broke to love to take a 2-0 lead in the second set. At 4-2, Djokovic saw three break points saved but won the fourth break point before serving out the set.

Djokovic continued his dominance into the third set. Another break to love took the score to 4-3, and Humbert lost when serving to stay in the match to complete Djokovic’s victory.

The Serbian will play David Goffin in the quarter-final, who beat Fernando Verdasco earlier in the day.
