Leicester Tigers’ slim hopes of progressing to the European Rugby Champions Cup are over after being thrashed 39-0 by Top 14 side Castres Olympique.

Fly-half Benjamin Urdapilleta got the scoreboard rolling when he crossed in the first minute before adding six more points with the boot.

Thomas Combezou then scored two tries before halftime.

Armand Battle confirmed the bonus point shortly after the break as Castres strolled to victory with a final try in the last minute.

The result sees Castres move three points behind second-placed Racing 92 in Group 4, with Leicester six points further back.
