A consortium led by former South Africa captain Francois Pienaar has completed a £32m takeover of Premiership Rugby club Saracens.

Kimono House Limited have bought the club, its StoneX Stadium and the Saracens Mavericks netball team.

The club announced the takeover in October and have now confirmed that the takeover has been completed.

Pienaar led South Africa to victory at the 1995 World Cup and made 44 appearances for Saracens.

Pro14’s Sharks owner Marco Masotti is also part of the consortium as well as Dominic Silvester, Neil Golding, Nick Leslau and Paul O’Shea.

Nigel Wray has given up his ownership after 26 years but will retain a “significant minority shareholding”.
