Europa League: James Tavernier praises Rangers team after Dortmund win
Rangers captain James Tavernier has said he is “really happy” after Rangers 4-2 Europa League win over Borussia Dortmund.
Tavernier opened the scoring from the penalty before Alfredo Morelos doubled the lead before halftime.
John Lundstram made it three after the break before Jude Bellingham’s long ranger pulled a goal back for the Bundesliga side.
An own goal from Dan-Axel Zagadou restored Rangers three-goal cushion but Raphael Guerreiro pulled a goal back late on to limit the damage.
"We're really happy with the result, but we know it's only halfway there."

“We’re really happy with the result. We know it’s only halfway so we can take the positives out of tonight,” Tavernier told BT Sport.
“We’re a little bit disappointed to concede the two goals because we put ourselves in a really good position but overall I thought we controlled them the best we can and limited their chances.
“We were really effective on the break and got the goals, so we’re really happy. All the boys were performing really well. The lads did really well to give us the platform that we needed.”
Rangers travel to Dundee United on Saturday before hosting Dortmund for the second leg next Thursday.
