British number one Dan Evans has been knocked out of Wimbledon after losing to Sebastian Korda.

The 22nd seed fell in four sets to the Wimbledon debutant and was not at his best against the American youngster.

Korda is considered to be one of the rising stars of world tennis and reached the top-50 for the first time when he won the Emilia-Romagna Open in May.

The 20-year-old needed two hours and 26 minutes to beat Evans 6-3 3-6 6-3 6-4.

Both players traded five successive love games before Korda broke for 5-3 before holding to take the opening set.

Evans levelled in the second set but was broken twice in a row towards the end of the third set.

The 31-year-old looked to have taken the match to a decider when he went 4-2 ahead in the fourth, but Korda won four straight games to seal the win.

Attention now turns towards Andy Murray who meets 10th seed Denis Shapovalov on Centre Court this evening.
