Warrington Wolves stave off comeback to beat Wakefield Trinity

Warrington Wolves had to hold off a late Wakefield Trinity comeback to win 32-30 in the Super League.

Three first-half tries led Warrington to a 22-6 halftime lead but Wakefield battled back in the second half.

Stefan Ratchford scored twice early on before Tom Lineham went over with Tinirau Arona providing Wakefield’s only try in the first 40 minutes.

Kyle Wood pulled two tries back before Kevin Brown scored for Warrington. Late tries from Tom Johnstone and Pauli Pauli came too late for Wakefield.

The result moves Warrington into the top three of the Super League table with Wakefield remaining in sixth.
