Ukraine are through to the Euro 2020 quarter-finals after a dramatic extra-time winner against Sweden.

Ukraine will now play England in Rome on Saturday.

Andriy Yarmolenko nearly put Ukraine ahead early on but his shot was well saved by Robin Olsen.

Sweden then came forward. Forsberg headed wide before Dejan Kulusevski had a shot blocked.

Zinchenko opened the scoring on the half-hour mark though when he found the bottom right corner after Yarmolenko’s ball into the box.

The score was level before halftime when Forsberg’s shot went in off a deflection from the edge of the penalty area.

Both teams hit the woodwork within a minute of each after the break. First, Sergiy Sydorchuk struck the right post from 20 yards before Forsberg’s shot from a similar distance bounced away.

Forsberg could have won the game for Sweden with 20 minutes remaining but his shot rebounded off the crossbar.

Both teams struggled to create in extra time but Sweden’s task was made harder when Danielson was shown a straight red card after a VAR check for a high challenge into the knees of Artem Besedin.

Ukraine still struggled to threaten even with a man up. Dovbyk lifted the ball over the bar when one-on-one but the offside flag was up anyway as the match went to penalties.

It was Dovbyk who stepped up deep into second-half stoppage time to send Ukraine through when he met a Zinchenko cross to beat Olsen.
