Tiger Woods to play in The Open
Tiger Woods has confirmed that he will play in The Open at Carnoustie in July.
The former world number one returned to the PGA Tour in November following his fourth back surgery in three years, and finished second in the Valspar Championship in March.
Woods has won The Open three times – at St Andrews in 2000 and 2005 and at Royal Liverpool in 2006 – and is looking to add to his 14 majors won between 1997 and 2008.
The American has played two Opens at Carnoustie, finishing seventh in 1999 and 12th in 2007.
