Surrey ease past Glamorgan but miss out on One-Day Cup quarter-final

Surrey have defeated Glamorgan with nine overs to spare in their final group match of the One-Day Cup.

Before the match, Surrey could still progress to the quarter-final with a win but Essex’s victory over Kent means they miss out by just a single point.

Glamorgan, who have won just one of the eight group games, set a target of 267 with number three Connor Brown hitting 98 before being caught by Jason Roy off the bowling of Rikki Clarke.

Surrey had the game wrapped up in 40.4 overs, with Will Jacks thumping 80 off just 57 balls and captain Rory Burns adding a further 68.

Three successive boundaries from Ollie Pope saw Surrey reach their target with relative ease.
