Sunrisers Hyderabad have moved to the top of the Indian Premier League after an 11-run victory over Rajasthan Royals.

Kane Williamson’s 63 and a knock of 45 from Alex Hales led Sunrisers to a score of just 151 but their bowling attack came to the rescue to limit Royals to a score of 140.

Sandeep Sharma (1-15) bowled 14 dot balls to keep the Royals run rate down with Siddarth Kaul posting figures of 2-23.

Opener Ajinkya Rahane scored 65 and Sanju Samson added 40 but the rest of the batting order failed to pick up the necessary runs to claim victory. England’s Ben Stokes was bowled for a duck while compatriot Jos Buttler scored 10.

The win sees Sunrisers move two points clear at the top of the table, with Royals remaining in fifth.
