Su-Wei Hsieh and Barbora Strycova have won the Wimbledon ladies doubles title after beating Gabriela Dabrowski and Yi-Fan Xu in straight sets.

The teams did not get started until just before 8pm after Novak Djokovic beat Roger Federer in the men’s singles final in five hours but the Taiwan-Czech pair needed just 68 minutes to defeat their opponents 6-2 6-4.

Strycova has had a superb Wimbledon campaign after reaching the singles semi-final and has now won her first Grand Slam title at the age of 33.

Hsieh and Strycova were trailing 2-1 in the opener but won five games in succession to take the first set.

The pair broke early in the second set, but were broken back immediately. Another impressive break gave them a 2-1 lead and they held serve for the rest of the match to claim victory.
