Aberdeen and Rangers have drawn 1-1 in the Scottish Premiership to take the battle for second place down to the final day.

Kenny McLean opened the scoring from the penalty spot but Rangers replied through Ross McCrorie in the 63rd minute.

The result means Aberdeen remain one point above Rangers, while Hibernian could move level with Rangers if they beat Edinburgh rivals Hearts on Wednesday.

Rangers travel to Hibs on Sunday, while Aberdeen go to champions Celtic.

Hamilton have effectively avoided relegation despite losing 2-1 to St Johnstone. Losses to Partick Thistle and Ross County have put Accies three points ahead of Partick with one game remaining, but with Partick requiring a 14-goal swing on the final day.

A penalty from David McMillan and an 80th-minute David Wotherspoon strike gave Saints the victory, with Dougie Imrie replying the 82nd minute.

The battle to avoid automatic relegation will go right down to the last day, with Partick currently two points ahead of Ross County.

Ryan Bowman scored the only goal of the game as Motherwell defeated Partick and Simon Murray scored the winner in Dundee’s 1-0 win over County.
