Scottish Premiership Roundup: Celtic, Hibernian both win

Celtic stretched their unbeaten run in the Scottish Premiership to 40 games with a 4-1 win over Hearts.

Leigh Griffiths scored twice as the Bhoys dominated. Further goals from Scott Sinclair and Callum McGregor stretched the scoreline further before Esmael Goncalves scored a consolation late on.

Hibernian won on their return to the Scottish Premiership. The Hibees had spent three seasons in the Championship before last season’s title win and their start to the campaign started in the worst possible way.

Chris Erskine gave Partick Thistle the lead after just seven minutes but goals from Martin Boyle and Steven Whittaker gave Hibs the lead at half time. A Simon Murray penalty secured a 3-1 victory.

Elsewhere, Ross County sold top scorer Liam Boyce to Burton Albion over the summer but goals from Jamie Lindsay and Christopher Routis saw them beat Dundee 2-1. Jack Hendry pulled a goal back late on.

Michael O’Halloran scored an 89th-minute winner as St Johnstone defeated Kilmarnock 2-1. David Wotherspoon had given the Saints an early lead before Kris Boyd equalised in the second half.

Rangers travel to Motherwell and Aberdeen host Hamilton Academical on Sunday.
