Scottish Premiership: Hibs beat Rangers, Aberdeen win

Hibernian have moved up to third in the Scottish Premiership table after a 3-2 win over Rangers at Ibrox.

The Edinburgh side took a 2-1 lead into half time against Rangers. Alfredo Morelos had opened the scoring after just three minutes but Simon Murray equalised for Hibs.

New Rangers signing Ryan Jack was shown the red card in the 36th minute and Fabio Cardoso’s own goal three minutes later gave the Hibees the lead.

Vykintas Slivka got a third goal in the 66th minute before James Tavernier made it 3-2.

In Perth, St Johnstone scored two goals in the opening 18 minutes through Steven MacLean and Michael O’Halloran. Andy Rose pulled one back for Motherwell before half time but O’Halloran’s second goal made it 3-1.

O’Halloran missed a penalty to deny himself a hat-trick but Murray Davidson put the icing on the cake with the fourth in the 94th minute.

Heart of Midlothian finally kick-started their season with a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock. Esmael Goncalves scored the only goal of the game at Rugby Park.

Ross County’s Craig Curran opened the scoring after just two minutes before Mark Reynolds levelled for Aberdeen.

Shaleum Logan got on the end of Gary Mackay-Steven’s cross to win the game for the Dons with 19 minutes remaining.

At New Douglas Park, Hamilton Academical eased past Dundee 3-0 with goals coming from Darian MacKinnon, Steven Boyd and Douglas Imrie.

In Friday evening’s match, Olivier Ntcham scored the only goal of the game as Celtic defeated Partick Thistle 1-0.
