Tries from Tom Prydie, Hadleigh Parkes and Dan Jones led Scarlets to a 27-21 lead at half time, with Toulon scoring through Duane Vermeulen and Chris Ashton.

Toulon could only pull three points back in the second half with Francois Trinh-Duc scoring two penalties after Rhys Patchell had added three more points to Scarlets total.

Scarlets will need to wait until Sunday’s Champions Cup results to find out whether they will play the quarter-final at home.
