Romelu Lukaku completes Manchester United transfer

Manchester United have completed the signing of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku for an initial fee of £75m.

The fee could rise to £90m with add-ons.

The 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Red Devils and will join up with the team for the pre-season tour of America.

“Romelu is a natural fit for Manchester United. He is a big personality and a big player,” said boss Jose Mourinho.

“It is only natural that he wants to develop his career at the biggest club.

“He will be a great addition to the group. I am really looking forward to working with him again.”

The Belgian international said: “When Manchester United and Jose Mourinho come knocking at the door, it is an opportunity of a lifetime and one that I could not turn down.

“I cannot wait to run out at Old Trafford in front of 75,000 fans.”

Lukaku scored 68 Premier League goals for Everton, including 25 last season.
