Rafael Nadal sets up Roger Federer semi-final by beating Sam Querrey
Rafael Nadal has progressed into the Wimbledon semi-final after a straight-sets win over Sam Querrey.
The world number two overcame the big-serving American 7-5 6-2 6-2 to set up a repeat of the 2006, 2007 and 2008 final against Roger Federer on Friday.
Nadal took the lead early on in the opening set but had three set points saved at 5-3. Querrey then broke back to level but Nadal won the next two games to take the lead.
The second set proved easier for Nadal as he took a 3-1 lead. He did have to save two break points at 3-2 up but broke his opponent again to put one foot into the semi-final.
And the win was complete when Nadal went a double-break ahead on the way to a 5-1 lead. Querrey stayed in the match with a love game but Nadal served out to secure safe passage through to the semi-final.
