Rafael Nadal completes rain-delayed win over Simone Bolelli

Rafael Nadal has beaten Italian Simone Bolelli 6-4 6-3 7-6 in the first round of the French Open.

The world number one started the day 0-3 down in the third set after the match was delayed by rain last night but won three successive games to level.

Nadal then saved four break points at 3-4 and four set points during the tie-break before eventually prevailing 11-9 to take the victory.

Yesterday, the first set went to serve until Nadal broke to take the set and the world number one came from behind to win the second set.

Nadal will play world number 78 Guido Pella in the second round as he bids to win an 11th French Open.
