Pro14: Edinburgh, Scarlets wrap up huge victories

Edinburgh and Scarlets have earned bonus-point victories against Southern Kings and Dragons in the Pro14.

Scarlets increased their lead at the top of Group B to six points with a 47-13 win over rivals Dragons.

Dragons opened the scoring through the boot of Arwel Robson but tries from Jonathan Davies, Tom Prydie and Dafydd Jones put Scarlets in control. Carl Meyer’s penalty pulled three points back for Dragons just before halftime.

Scarlets dominance continued in the second half with Aled Davies, Aaron Shingler, Will Boyde and Rhodri Jones all going over.

Dragons did get a late consolation through Sarel Pretorius.

In Edinburgh, the home team poured more misery on newcomers Southern Kings season.

The South African side have now lost all 11 games and went 32-0 down before Ntabeni Dukisa went over late on for a consolation try.

Jaco van der Walt opened the scoring with the boot before Grant Gilchrist and Blair Kinghorn went over to give Edinburgh a 15-point half-time lead.

Another Van der Walt penalty was followed by tries from Duhan van der Merwe and Cameron Fenton to secure the bonus point.

After Dukisa’s try at the other end, Dougie Fife went over for Edinburgh’s final score of the game.
